Call to Battle

We are in a battle. Tired of getting kicked around? Time for victory. You have an enemy. The devil doesn’t like you. Just playing church means you’re in trouble. The devil’s legal authority was broken at the cross, but he tries to influence our thinking.

Get aggressive. 1Peter 5:8 Seeking whom he may devour. John 10:10 The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy. Mat 6:13 Lead not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Eph 6:12 Not fighting against flesh and blood. Wrong beliefs, getting into the flesh. I cannot overcome in my flesh. If the devil can draw me into self-focus, he can defeat me. Stressed, worried, discouraged; those are attitudes that lead to defeat. John 15:4 Abide in Christ. Eph 6:10 Strong in the Lord is the place of victory.

Heb 12:1 sin that entangles us. Jer 29:11 future full of hope. Whether you like it or not, whether you believe it or not, whether you are ready or not, you are going into a battle. Stand up in your own battle. I can stand with you but you must enter the battle yourself. 2Tim 2:3 Good soldier.

Know your place in Christ. Adam’s sin allowed the devil to take our authority. Rom 5:21 reign with Christ. 2Cor 5:17 New creation.  Reestablish authority, dominion, victory.  Eph 2:4-6 raised up with Christ and sit in the place of authority. Then I can stand in the time of battle. Eph 1:19-20 Seated far above all principalities and powers. Entering into warfare I am far above. Are you under? In Christ you are far above.

Key to victory is submission. James 4:7 Submit then resist and the devil will flee. Authority comes when I am submitted to authority. Acts 19:13-16 Sons of Sciva were not under authority. Ex 17 Rod as sign of authority. Spiritual battle at a higher place.

 Answer the call to battle:

  1. Know the enemy has already been defeated. Wrong thinking gets you off track. The victory is mine. Why? Because God said it. Heb 2:14 destroyed the one who has the power of death. Jesus pulled his plug. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed. John 16:33 An Overcomer.
  2. What do I have authority over? Lk 10:19 Over the power of the enemy. Connected to the source of authority. Zechariah 4:6 not by might.
  3. Speak the word. Jesus used the word. It is written. Mark 11:23 Speak to the mountain. Spoken with faith. Prov 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Not complaining not murmuring. Speak the word. Demonstrate authority through my words.

Col 1:12-14 Out of the power of darkness. We have a new identity, a new residence. When the light comes, darkness must flee. When the light of the Word comes, the devil must flee.
