Ripping the lid off of your life

Prov 4:26 Ponder the path of your life. Who am I as a child of God? Does my path line up with being a new creation? I need right thinking to follow the right path. Excuseitis. Stay in the pit or break out? God’s best. Is it God’s will for me to just get by? Biggest obstacle is me. Self-sabotage. I filter life through my beliefs. Glasses first time, used to the world being blurry. Jubilee’s hair in her face, that’s the way life is. I need a good crisis to shakes up my life and get me to reexamine beliefs. 2Cor 6:11-13 Msg. The smallness is in me. We are in a jail of defeat, failure and mediocrity. Imprisoned by our beliefs. Phil. 3:13-14 Let your dream pull you forward.

Mark 8:22-26

  1. Vs 22 Took him out of town, out of his environment and old beliefs.
  2. Vs 26 Told him not to go back into town, the old friends who would pull him back into his old way of living.
  3. Vs 25 Most importantly, Jesus was not satisfied with mediocrity. Phil 3:13-14 Press toward the goal.

People in the Bible who led mediocre lives: Moses (lost it all), Gideon (least of his house), Peter (sin conscious).

Moving into God’s best:

  1. Readjust sights. Is 43:19 I will do a new thing. Job, family. Like a binoculars, focus sights further out. First glasses in 4th grade. Always go after the predominant picture in my mind
  2. Change expectations. Raise the level of what I anticipate. Murphy’s Law is not faith. 2Cor. 5:7 Walk by faith not by sight.  Rom 8:28 all things work together for good. Lifestyle of faith. But what is my faith in. Anticipate God’s best, not the worst. Daily habits. Embrace trial. Stepping stone or headstone. 2Kings 2:9 Elisha followed Elijah but wasn’t satisfied to just be equal. Double portion.
  1. See what God has for you. Gen. 35:11 El Shaddi, the God who is more than enough, not just get by. God is only limited by our lack of faith. Ex 6:7-8 Cruel bondage broke their spirit. Eph 3:20 Exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or think according to the power that works in us.

The key to your next level: Speak God’s word over your life or shut up! Prov 18:21 Death and life in the power of the tongue.  Imprisoned by what I speak. Speak consistent with new creation life.
